For a casual gorge visit (€2–€13): wear your swimwear or light shorts. Water shoes are essential; the river rocks are sharp and slippery. A basic runner with good grip works. Bring a hat (no shade in the canyon), sunscreen (50+ SPF, reapply), and sunglasses. A lightweight windbreaker is useful if the canyon wind picks up. Change in the car or bring a towel.

For body rafting (€60+): bring swimwear underneath; a 5 mm wetsuit, helmet, life jacket, and water shoes are all provided by the operator. Wear minimal extra layers. Bring a towel or change of clothes in a dry bag. You will be cold and wet afterward.

Avoid: flip-flops (no grip, sharp rocks), heavy jeans (hard to move in wet), expensive trainers (they will get muddy and wet).

Frequently asked questions

What footwear do I need?

Water shoes or grip trainers. The river rocks are sharp and slippery. No flip-flops; they offer no grip and slip on wet rocks.

Is a wetsuit needed for a paddle?

No, not for a quick paddle. The water is 8–12°C but 20–30 seconds in is enough for most people. For body rafting, wetsuits are provided.

Can I wear regular trainers?

Any trainer with a good grip sole works. Avoid smooth soles or worn shoes. Water shoes (neoprene with rubber soles) are ideal but not required for a quick paddle.
